California State Senate Says "No" To Employer-Forced RFID

Another no-brainer to me, to go into the "duh what took you so damn long" file.

And wow. Remind me to put on my "do not apply to" list "CityWatcher.com" who has required employees to be chipped.

when i was in the electrical apprenticeship we had to attend a seminar on rfid, among other things. it was put on by siemens who is a leading manufacturer of rfid. their main goal is to get rfid on every consumer product out there the goal being greater efficiency and whatnot.

i was happy to hear someone else ask the question about the possibility of tagging humans and big brother, etc. because that was the first thing i thought of when they introduced the concept. the presenters blew the question off as an ethical question to be dealt with by someone else. they just make the damn things its someone else's job to figure out the best way to use them. typical.

it reminds me of the prophecies we heard about back when i was a kid attending the seventh day adventist church. they claimed that in the future everyone would be forced to wear the 'mark of the beast' in order to make any purchases, do any business, etc. call me crazy but it seems unless we can nip this in the bud, we are headed in that direction. creepy.

it is totally creepy! i don't even like the idea of microchipping our dog. who would ever give their trust over to some unknown body of people like that, meaning who knows what sorts of things could be sent/done to the body once you have a computer chip inside. a quick and easy way to control people.

and typical, as you said, of business not wanting to address any other potential uses of their product.

sometimes i wonder if (some of) the biblical prophecies that seem to be coming true today are only happening because our leaders and big biz WANT them to happen.

friday night was fun!
